Did we just witness the perfect music video? With We Don’t Get Along (Crumbs of a Modern Tragedy), artist VICTORIA and director Victoria Karakoleva deliver something that is far more than a music video, it’s a cultural statement.

From the very first frame, the video critiques our generation’s obsession with “showing” on social media, confronting the toxicity of beauty standards and the desperate race for popularity. Set within the satirical “Digital Grave” influencer school, the story unfolds with biting irony: students receive vacuum-sealed “starter kits” filled with selfie sticks and phones, their lives revolving around image and performance rather than individuality. The choreography of identical girls in blonde wigs and pink outfits, holding identical selfie sticks, becomes both amusing and unsettling, illustrating how the pursuit of uniqueness often collapses into sameness.

Cinematographer Krum Rodriguez deserves particular recognition, his work here is striking. Every composition is carefully considered, every camera movement reveals new details, and the interplay of colors creates a layered visual experience that enhances the narrative without overpowering it. The nighttime sequence, where VICTORIA sings directly into the camera while the dancers move in slow motion around her, is a technical and artistic highlight. Filmed at double speed and later slowed down, the effect is mesmerizing and haunting.

The production design is deliberately minimalistic, emphasizing message over spectacle. Yet every choice, from costumes and props to lighting and accessories, feels intentional and precise, supporting the story’s satirical edge. The music video manages to critique the artificiality of influencer culture while keeping the energy entertaining, sharp, and unforgettable.

Perhaps the most powerful moment comes near the end, when VICTORIA removes her blonde wig. It is a symbolic “undressing,” a clever and poignant gesture that strips away the façade, reminding us that it’s time to abandon the masks and the desperate urge to shine brighter than everyone else. The video asserts: we are beautiful as we are.

This is what makes We Don’t Get Along such a triumph. Karakoleva has created a piece that is both playful and deeply critical, filled with humor, exaggeration and endless creativity. Above all, it is a music video that feels alive, daring, and refreshingly honest, the kind you watch with a smile because you know it truly has something to say.
